3 Lewis County Brothers Accused Of Deer Jacking

Three Lewis County brothers have been arrested for alleged deer jacking in the town of Lyonsdale.

The three are identified as:

- Chase Nagy, age 25
- Robert Nagy, age 24
- Brian A. Nagy, age 21

All three live on North Pearl Street in Port Leyden.

New York State Environmental Conservation Police Officers arrested the trio following a November 8 incident.

According to officials, the brothers entered a private meadow on River Road at around 9:20 p.m. in a pickup truck and intentionally ran down two deer with the vehicle in the field.

One of the injured deer was then shot with a 20 gauge shotgun slug and then finished off with a knife, officials said.

That deer was transported back to the brothers' home before the trio returned to the same field to recover the second deer.

That's when an officer spotted their vehicle in the field and confronted the three.

A single shot 20 gauge shotgun was recovered at the scene, along with a large sheath knife, officials said.

The charges are answerable in Lyonsdale Town Court on December 7.

Deer jacking is the illegal practice of taking deer at night by use of a light.
