Nineteen year old Brittany Brothers is being treated at Fletcher Allen Medical Center. She was initially treated at Massena Memorial Hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery for internal bleeding. Brothers, her 17 year old brother and their 10 year old sister were struck by a car while waiting for a school bus in their driveway on County Route 53. The two younger siblings were treated for what police called non-life-threatening injuries at Massena Memorial Hospital. Police say 18 year old Camren Campeau lost control of the car he was driving and struck the students. Campeau was not hurt. State police say he was ticketed for unsafe speed. All of the students involved are classmates at St. Lawrence Central School. Here is our original report from Tuesday: Brittany Brothers, 19, was waiting for the school bus in her driveway with her 17 year old brother and 10 year old sister when the teenage operator of a compact car apparently lost control on the slush-covered road and slammed into them.
