St. Lawrence County's District Attorney is having to deal with more staffing problems - this time involving her chief assistant.

District Attorney Nicole Duve confirmed that Alex Lesyk is the latest to resign from her office, effective September 30.

Lesyk has said he is dissatisfied with his $66,000 a year salary, which has only increased slightly more than $1,000 in the three and a half years he has been on the job as a chief assistant.

Duve says she expects to look outside the county to find a replacement for Lesyk.

Her office is already down two assistants.

Lesyk plans to enter private practice in St. Lawrence County.
