Work zones are popping up all over local roads and this holiday weekend police are warning that they will be watching how people will be driving in and around the zones.
 
As usual with work zones, there are lower speed limits, flags and lots of extra warnings.

The New York State Department of Transportation and state police are hoping that everyone will be cautious as plenty of drivers take to the road this weekend.
 
It may seem obvious to slow down when you hit a work zone, but it'll also save you money.

Fines are doubled if you are caught speeding through one.

In 2007, 835 people died in work zones nationwide.
