Matt Eggleston is an avid hunter, but the bird decoys he bought at the store just weren't doing it for him. So a few years back, Matt started making his own hunting decoys. It started as a hobby, but over time it has grown to be a much more serious endeavor. Matt came up with a three-dimensional decoy made out of plastic. It moves with the wind in order to trick birds into landing - a one-of-a-kind invention Matt now has a patent and copyright for. Matt made the decoys by hand, but his idea has grown bigger than that. His company, Hawkeye Decoys, is on the track toward mass production. The goal is global distribution. Eggleston has test sold his products locally and they've done very well. He says he'll continue making more decoy models and hopes in five years to be employing a small staff and distributing his product everywhere. |
