Gouverneur Man Tries to Evade Police After Traffic Stop

James Howell, 39, of Spragueville Road, Gouverneur, lead police on a foot chase last night, ending with his capture.

Howell has been charged with resisting arrest, driving while intoxicated and numerous vehicle and traffic offenses.

Authorities say Howell was driving a van that was stopped just before 3 AM.

While being interviewed, Howell allegedly ran off and was caught a short time later on West Main Street.
