It's a July 4th tribute that literally stretches far beyond what many of us have seen before.

It's called The Freedom Field and it's in the town of Adams for the weekend.

In the field, there are 2,000 American flags.

It took two days to put them up.

When Katherine Denny saw it, she had to stop.

"My husband's in Iraq right now...that's why I see the beauty in it," she said.

The Freedom Field is a moving tribute - figuratively and literally.

It moves around the state, even around the country.

It means different things in different places.

It started as a tribute to the victims of 9/11.

But in Adams on Independence Day weekend, it means something else.

"Most of the flags that have been sponsored were for men that are serving over in Iraq and Afghanistan," said organizer Michael Bellone.

People and businesses can sponsor a flag for $30.

The flag is tagged with the name of the person being honored or remembered.

You can pick up your flag when the exhibit closes Sunday.

The Freedom Field is located on Route 11 between Adams and Adams Center and is open around the clock.
