Monument Work Delayed By Rain
The rainy weather is delaying efforts to reassemble a stone monument honoring the founder of Ogdensburg. The Father Abbe Picquet stone monument has been moved to near its original Fort LaPresentation site on Lighthouse Point, but remains dismantled on the ground. This week, crews from Farley Construction of Gouverneur removed the monument from where it has stood at Notre Dame Church since the 1960's. The monument will be rededicated during Founders Day weekend activities July 18. |
