6 Injured In Lewis County Car Crash

Six Lewis County residents -- including three children -- are being treated for injuries they suffered in a one-car accident in the town of New Bremen.

Sheriff's deputies say 20 year old Hannah Murphy of Castorland was driving on the Deveines Road when she looked down at the radio.
Her car went off the road and struck a tree. Murphy suffered a back injury in the crash.
Also injured were 22 year old Travis Wicks of Lowville, 20 year old Chelsey Zehr of Castorland and three children -- ages 3, 6 and 11 -- also of Castorland.
Wicks also injured his back. Zehr suffered a broken knee and leg and was taken to Upstate Medical University.
The 3 year old suffered a broken collarbone.
Murphy was ticketed for failure to keep right, speed not reasonable or prudent, and failure to have the children properly secured in the vehicle.
