Morning Wake-Up Call: Potsdam President John Schwaller
SUNY Potsdam is the first New York State college to consider applying high school students without SAT or ACT scores.
Instead, Potsdam will examine a variety of information, including the GPA, courses taken, activities, essays, letters of recommendation, resumes and interview.
Potsdam President John Schwaller says that students can supply the school with SAT or ACT scores if they with, but Schwaller says it is an initiative to improve admissions criteria and is looking for well-rounded students that have a mind not just for academics, but for the world community.
"Look at it this way, we're mostly concerned about how they do in high school. Do you think it is better for us to look at the fruit of four hours in a testing room or four years in the classroom?"
