H1N1 Clinics To Start in Schools
H1N1 vaccine clinics could start in Jefferson County schools as early as this week. Donna Grant from Jefferson County Public Health says when she receives the vaccines, she can start the clinics, and she is expecting a shipment as early as Monday. Schools sent letters home with students, but only about 30% of parents have given consent for their children to have the vaccines. "I think part of it is uncertainty on the parents part. We've tried to send a very consistent message as has the state department of health and the CDC, but there's a lot of conflicting information out there," says Grant. Grant says many parents don't realize this is just a reformulation of the regular seasonal vaccine. She says the best way to protect children from H1N1 is to give them the vaccine. Most Popular |
