Animal Shelter Appreciation Week
Now is the perfect time to bring home a new friend from an animal shelter. It's Animal Shelter Appreciation Week. Sunday morning, 21 dogs were up for adoption at the Jefferson County Dog Shelter. People looking to adopt can find everything from nine week old puppies to seven year old boxers. "I actually adopted a stray dog from here," says Todd Cummings from the Jefferson County Dog Shelter. "I'm telling you, it's the best dog I've ever had." "I think they know when they're adopted. She seems really happy," says Brenda Dorr, who adopted a dog. "It's a good feeling that you're doing something for somebody else." Animal Shelter Appreciation runs all week, and the Jefferson County Dog Shelter will be open every day for adoptions.
