The operator of an Ogdensburg funeral home faces a felony forgery charge for allegedly falsifying a death certificate to obtain trust money from the deceased's insurance.

Officials charged 40 year old Patricia Murray of 337 Proctor Avenue with second-degree forgery charges.

Murray is the operator of the Fox & Murray Funeral Home at 528 Franklin Street.

Murray allegedly forged the name of the Ogdensburg city clerk and a physician to a death certificate in September 2008.

Murray allegedly received more than $1,100 in payment from the deceased woman's pre-planned funeral and trust account with her insurance company.

Murray was released on her own recognizance.
