Congressman-elect Bill Owens was greeted with cheers and congratulations during a visit to Watertown Thursday.

He stopped by the Crystal Restaurant on Public Square to thank supporters and meet his new constituents.

He even stopped to sign a few autographs along the way.

Owens said election night was stressful, but now he is ready to get to work.

"I'm going to work with everybody to get the job done. I pledged to do it in a non-partisan way, to be independent and to represent everybody in the district and that's how I intend to operate.  Whether or not someone supported me or didn't is irrelevant at this point," said Owens.

Owens said no date has been set for him to be sworn into office.
