Ramon Robles entered a plea of not guilty during his arraignment on second-degree murder charges in Jefferson County Court Thursday.

He is accused of killing Annette Vazquez on December 8, 2008.

Her body was found March 23 of this year.

Robles was brought from Puerto Rico to Miami on October 27 and was turned over to city police Wednesday afternoon.

A warrant was issued in Jefferson County court accusing Robles of second-degree murder.

Vazquez disappeared last December 8; she was last seen at the take-out window of the restaurant where she was employed.

She then failed to pick up her two daughters from school.

Robles was described by police as Vazquez's ex-boyfriend.

Robles was being held on unrelated charges in Puerto Rico.

Vazquez's body was found March 23 on Vrooman Hill Road.

Robles was returned to the county jail without bail.

His next court appearance is set for January 8.
