7 News Reporters Honored By Syracuse Press Club

It is always nice to recognize the good work of our colleagues.

The Syracuse Press Club presented 7 News reporter Katie Alexander with a First Place Award for Investigative Reporting.

Katie was honored Saturday during the awards dinner in Syracuse.

She won the award for her series 'The War Within: Combating Military Suicides.'

The judges said this was a difficult topic handled with care and sensitivity. 

Also recognized by the Syracuse Press Club, 7 News reporter Asa Stackel.

Asa, a full-time student at SUNY Oswego, was the winner of the 2012 Syracuse Press Club's 2012 Devesty-Williams Scholarship.

A proud north country native, Asa grew up in Copenhagen and has interned at 7 News for the last year.

He joins our news team full-time later this month..
