7 News Wins State AP Awards


7 News is continuing with its long tradition of receiving awards from the New York State Associated Press Broadcasters Association.

Reporter Caitlin Cissne won first place in the feature story category with her special "Alive Day."

She told the story of local Marine Jessie Fletcher and the anniversary of the explosion that caused him to lose both his legs.

Reporter John Moore received a special mention for best news series for "The Shrinking Service" about challenges facing the postal service.

A special mention for best interview went to Caitlin Cissne for "Vigilante Dad."

Reporters John Friot and Matt McClusky shared a special mention for best spot news for their coverage of a fire at the Acloa plant in Massena.

A special mention for best continuing news coverage went to Friot for "Muslims Monitored." 

The winners were announced Saturday night at the annual NYSAPBA awards banquet in Saratoga Springs.
