Town Of Henderson Residents Sound Off About Galloo Island Wind Project

People in the town of Henderson are voicing their frustration over the Galloo Island wind project.

At a public hearing Monday morning, a number of landowners spoke out against a transmission line that would run through Jefferson and Oswego counties.

The power company behind the project is hoping to use agricultural land for the line.

Some prefer to see more of the line underwater and less on land.

"The town is vehemently opposed to transmission lines coming through the town at all and is particularly opposed both of the proposed routes," said Town Attorney Holly Austin.

The hearing was the first of four being held by the State Public Service Commission.
