Redwood Man Held on $50,000 Bail After Damaging Police Station Property

New York State Police in Watertown arrested Jeremiah C. Collins, 27, of 43812 Stine Road in Redwood, around 4:45 AM on November 16.

It is alleged that he entered Ernesto Ortega's home on State Route 3 in the Town of LeRay and stole a phone, then entered Mr. Ortega's truck and took a backpack containing a laptop computer and several DVDs.

Collins was found behind the house by responding troopers and was also found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana.

He was arrested and transported to State Police Station in Watertown where he then intentionally damaged property inside the building.

Collins is facing charges of burglary in the 2nd degree, possession of burglar tools, petit larceny, criminal mischief in the 4th degree and unlawful possession of marijuana.

He was arraigned before Town of Pamelia Justice Barker and remanded to the Jefferson County Public Safety Building in lieu of $50,000 cash bail.
