Former 911 Dispatcher Admits To Stealing From Her Labor Union

A former Jefferson County 911 dispatcher, who abruptly resigned last year, has admitted in court that she stole thousands of dollars from her labor union while she was treasurer.

The county sheriff's department said Calhoun unlawfully removed more than $15,000 from the Council 82, Local 3089, checking account between 2006 and 2008.

Calhoun was arrested on a 119 count sealed indictment.

Instead of going to trial, Calhoun took a plea deal.

She pleaded guilty to third-degree grand larceny.

She is expected to be sentenced January 20.
