If Route 81 south was part of your plan Wednesday afternoon, you couldn't get there from here for a couple of hours.

Greasy, slick snow caused accidents involving an estimated 20 vehicles Wednesday morning. There were so many vehicles off the road -or otherwise in trouble - emergency crews were forced to shut down the highway until shortly after 2 pm. Officially, the shutdown extended from exit 41 to exit 40 going south, but 7 News reporter Jeff Nelson saw cars being stopped at exit 42.

Route 11, the alternate route going south, quickly backed up.
