Two Hurt in Separate Snowmobile Crashes
Two snowmobilers were taken to the hospital with injuries after a crash in St. Lawrence County and a crash in Lewis County. The Lewis County Sheriff's Department says Saturday afternoon Jewel Whalen, 46, was riding her snowmobile on Trail C4A in the town of West Turin when she lost control. Police say Whalen's snowmobile left the trail and hit two trees. She was taken to University Hospital in Syracuse to be treated for head injuries. Then, Sunday morning, the St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Department investigated a snowmobile accident on State Route 68 in the Town of Pierrepont. Deputies say Wesley Frank, 22, was driving down the road and sideswiped a guardrail. Frank was thrown from the snowmobile and received multiple injuries. He was taken to Fletcher Allen Hospital in Burlington, VT, for treatment. |
