Snowkiting Comes to Lewis County

The annual snowkiting event made its way to Lewis County this weekend.

For snowkiter Robert Lussier, the experience can be described as an "adrenaline rush."

Snowkiting is a mix of snowboarding and sailing.

People anchor themselves, wait for the right gust of wind, and push off.

To do this, you need wind and snow, two things Lewis County has plenty of.

It's become a hot spot for the sport.

Brad Degen traveled all the way from Maryland to surf the breeze.

"This is actually the only place I come up to do it because it's the most consistent," he says.

Snowkiting has become a consistent money maker.

For three years, Lewis County has hosted a snowkiting event.

It brings in additional tourism revenue, and the sport is growing each year.
