Fort Drum officials are saying very little about an assault that took place on post last week. 

They did say an adult female family member of an active duty service member was assaulted in the early morning hours of March 3.

Officials said the preliminary investigation indicates the assault was not sexual, that it was not a random act and that no one else is in danger. 

The Army's Criminal Investigation Division and Fort Drum Department of Emergency Services are actively seeking the alleged attacker.

Fort Drum Public Affairs Director Julie Cupernnall told 7 News that the Army is working with civilian law enforcement during the investigation.

She would not release details about the extent of the woman's injuries or where on post the assault took place.
