It was a collective voice of as many as 2,000 protesting the closure of the Ogdensburg Correctional Facility.

Politicians and business owners joined with corrections officers and their families during a rally Friday afternoon at city hall.

They chanted, carried signs and wore orange t-shirts that said, "Say No To OCF Closing".

Several streets around city hall were closed to accommodate the crowd.

Close to 300 jobs would be lost and many corrections officers would be forced to transfer downstate if the prison closed.

State officials say as much as $23 million could be saved by closing the Ogdensburg prison.

Prison supporters will hold another rally in Albany March 23.
