Gloversville Man Arrested for Allegedly Possessing Drugs, Resisting Arrest

Around 11 PM on March 18, Canton Police responded to a report of suspicious activity in the parking lot of the St. Lawrence University Bookstore in the Village of Canton.

Police encountered Scott M. Labreche, 22, of Gloversville, NY, who was found to be in possession of 1 ounce of powdered cocaine and 4 ounces of marijuana.

The drugs confiscated had a street value of approximately $3,500.

Labreche resisted arrest and attempted to flee the scene before being taken into custody after a brief struggle with police.

He was charged with possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd, a Class B Felony, criminal possession of marijuana in the 5th, a class B misdemeanor, and resisting arrest, a class A misdemeanor.

Labreche was remanded to St. Lawrence County Jail on $10,000 cash, $20,000 bond and said that he was just visiting the area and did not have ties to the community.
