900+ Receive Degrees From SUNY Canton

It was the day SUNY Canton students had been working for years for - graduation day.

About 920 students received their diplomas this morning during SUNY Canton's 104th Commencement ceremony. 

The students and their families gathered in the brand new Convocation Athletic and Recreation center, or 'Roos House', for the event.

It was SUNY Canton President Joseph Kennedy's 21st and final commencement at the school. He is set to retire August 31st.

State Senator Patty Ritchie (R-48th District) was among those honored at Saturday's commencement ceremony. She received an Honoraree Alumna Award.

SUNY Canton's ceremony was just one of several college and university graduations taking place this weekend.

St. Lawrence University students will receive their degrees Sunday morning at 10 a.m.

SUNY Potsdam will hold its commencement ceremony Sunday at 10:45 a.m.
