Heavy snow and wind caused power outages in parts of the Adirondacks including the Star Lake region.

Clifton Fine Central School closed for the day Wednesday because of the winter like conditions.

At its peak, more than 1,000 National Grid customers were without power in the Star Lake region.

Most of the power was restored late Wednesday morning.

Maryalyce Perrault, who lives on Lake Road in Star Lake sent 7 News pictures of her home and property (above).

She said Star Lake got about a foot of snow and her power was out for at least seven hours.

The lights came back on at 11 a.m. Wednesday, she said.

The nearby community of Oswegatchie was also buried in snow.

Hank Boyea, who lives on Brown Falls Road, took pictures (at left) of the snow on a chair and swing between 4:30 and 5 a.m. Wednesday.

Thanks to Hank and Maryalyce for sending us your pictures.
