Fire Destroys Garage at Watertown Apartment Complex

It was a close call Sunday night in the city of Watertown, where firefighters were able to save part of an apartment complex from going up in flames.

Officials say fire broke out just before 7:30 p.m., in the garage at 256 Michigan Avenue, that's in the Mountaineer Estates apartment complex.

Four people in the attached apartment, along with two others in the adjacent apartment were able to get out safely.

The Red Cross is helping those unable to stay in their apartments due to damage.

The cause of the blaze is still being investigated.
