AMVETS Post 282 Getting New Home

Tools

For the last three years, members of Robert Freego AMVETS Post 282 have been operating out of space donated by the Potsdam VFW.

But the organization is now getting a new home.

A former used furniture building is being converted into the new AMVETS post.

It will have a kitchen, dining room and social room.

Members say it's a work in progress that, with the help of community donations of money, materials and furniture, they hope to have operational by the Thanksgiving or Christmas holiday to provide free meals to veterans and their families.

Donations can be mailed to AMVETS Post 282, P.O. Box 282, Potsdam, NY, 13676, or dropped off at the post on Route 11 between Canton and Potsdam.
