A 39 year old Norwood man and his mother, who allegedly abducted his daughter from the girl's Pennsylvania home where she lived with her mother, have waived extradition and will be returned to that state to face possible charges.

Peter Tarbox and his mother, 55 year old Annette Williams, have been held in the St. Lawrence County Jail since they were apprehended as fugitives from justice in Gouverneur last month..

Tarbox says he took 10 year old Alexandria Jade Long from her Gordon, Pennsylvania home because he feared for her safety.

Tarbox says he is the child's biological father and told 7 News in a jailhouse interview that parental custody had never been determined.

Tarbox and his mother were apprehended by Gouverneur police August 15 after an Amber Alert was issued by Pennsylvania authorities.

The child was reunited with her mother and step-father the following day.

Pennsylvania State Police say Tarbox and Williams are facing charges of kidnapping, custodial interference and endangering the welfare of a child.

FBI officials are also continuing to investigate.
