An Adams woman was arrested after she allegedly stole two cash donation jars from the Hearthstone Ministries thrift store on West Church Street in the village.

Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies say 53 year old Debra Reynolds admitted to removing the two jars, as well as a third she had placed in the thrift store herself.

Reynolds allegedly consolidated the collections from all three jars into her own and threw away the two stolen jars.

Deputies later recovered the containers as evidence.

The stolen jars belonged to Hearthstone Ministries and Care Net Pregnancy Center.

Reynolds was charged with petit larceny and released to appear in court at a later date.
