Alexandria Bay Resort Is Sold

One of the north country's major resorts is changing hands.

A spokesperson for Bonnie Castle Manor and Marina said the downtown Alexandria Bay business has been sold.

Nick Schaefer, sales manager for Bonnie Yacht Basin, said the closing on the property was completed Wednesday.

According to a report we ran on February 27, owner Don Cole said one of the buyers is based in Rochester.

We reported that the main shareholder is the daughter of the people who used to own Fiacco's Restaurant that was outside of Potsdam toward Canton.

Schaefer said the new owner has started installing new windows in the hotel and plans to refurbish the pool and restaurant.

The sale does not include Bonnie Castle Recreation Center, which Cole also owns.
