A 25 year old patient at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center has been arrested in connection with a stabbing at the Ogdensburg facility.

City police charged James Davison with felony counts of second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

He was returned to the psych center and an order of protection was issued on behalf of Davison's alleged victim.

Davison is accused of stabbing a male therapy aide in the cheek with a metal butter knife.

The employee suffered a puncture wound to his cheek.

Police said the attack happened Monday during the noon hour in the psych center's dining facility.

The staffer was taken to the emergency room at Claxton-Hepburn Hospital, where he was treated and released.

The employee's name was not released.

If Davison is released from the psych center, he will be taken to the county jail, where he will be held in lieu of $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond.
