Assemblywoman Addie Russell Speaks Out in Favor of Millionaire's Tax

Assemblywoman Addie Russell is speaking out in favor of the controversial Millionaire's Tax.

The tax, which affects people in the state earning more than $200,000 annually is set to expire at the end of December.

The governor is opposed to renewing the tax, but Russell says it's critical to our state's budgetary needs.

"It concerns me, knowing just how damaging the cuts have been to our local governments, our local schools, to our not for profits who call me regularly because its not just budget cutting, it's an overall tightening, of movement of funding.  Whether its delaying announcements of grants, or delaying payments to vital service providers in this area, further cuts are only going to exacerbate the problem," says Russell (D-118th Assembly District)

Russell says she would be in favor of amending the tax, so it would only affect those actually making one million dollars or more per year.
