Assemblywoman's Annual Book Drive Is Underway

Tools

If you're out Christmas shopping, think about giving the gift of reading.

North country Assemblywoman Addie Russell's annual book drive for children is underway.

She's encouraging everyone to donate new and gently used books for kids 12 and under.

Drop boxes can be found at all Kinney Drugs locations in Jefferson and St. Lawrence Counties.

Books can also be dropped off at Addie's office in Watertown's Dulles State Office Building.

"It's an effort that not just adults get into, but children also like giving to others," said Russell (D. - 116th District).

This is Russell's fifth year holding the drive.

So far, more than 12,000 books have been donated.

The drive is on until December 10.
