1 Airlifted To Hospital After Vehicles Collide

One person was airlifted from the scene of an accident in the town of Philadelphia Friday afternoon.

It happened on Route 11 near Indian River High School shortly after noon.

There was a collision between a sports utility vehicle and a CSX truck.

The driver of the truck, 55 year old Tim Stinson of Boylston, New York, told 7 News he was driving south on Route 11 when an oncoming SUV was apparently attempting to make a U-turn.

The two vehicles collided.

Officials said there were three people in the SUV; two of them suffered minor injuries.

The driver was identified as 26 year old Cody Robinson Jr of Kentucky.

He was taken to Samaritan Medical Center where he was treated and released.

A female passenger was airlifted to Upstate Medical University in Syracuse.

Stinson was not injured.

Robinson was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way.
