Baby Injured; Man Charged With Assault

A Fort Drum man is accused of injuring a 2 month old infant.

State police say 30 year old Kristoffer Fultz allegedly injured the child at his Desoto Drive residence on May 30.

The infant suffered a broken arm and two broken ribs and is being treated at the Golisano Childrens Hospital in Syracuse.

Police do not say what relationship Fultz has to the child.

Fultz was charged with second degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was arraigned in LeRay town court and sent to Jefferson County jail on $20,000 bail.

Police say they were assisted by county Child Protective Services and Fort Drum CID.

The is the second incident of a man injuring a child that police have reported in the past two days

In the earlier incident
, 26 year old Willie Smith III of Watertown is accused of hitting his infant son -- also 2 months old -- in the head with his fist.
