Blaze Destroys St. Lawrence County Barn, Nearby Home Spared

Fire destroyed a storage barn on Church Street in Lisbon Wednesday afternoon, but firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading to a nearby home.

Volunteers from Lisbon, Morley, Heuvelton and Waddington found the 60 by 100 foot barn engulfed in flames when they arrived on scene shortly before 2 p.m.

Fire officials told 7 News the barn is owned by Jerry Warren.

The intense heat from the fire melted the vinyl siding on a nearby home, but firefighters were able to prevent the blaze from spreading.
Fire Chief John McClear said while no firefighters were injured, one individual inside the nearby house who suffered from a heart condition, was taken to Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center with chest pains.
