Bockman's Safe Opened After Decades

If you've lived in Watertown for a long time, you probably remember Bockman's, a variety store on Washington Street that opened in the 1960's.

It has been closed for year, but on Wednesday, some former employees gathered in what's now Sherwood Florist to open up a safe that has been locked shut for at least 25 years.

They hoped for old pictures, or some keepsake from the past.

What they found was a little less exciting - a piece of paper dated 1963 with the names of some local businesses listed.

No one was too disappointed by the findings.

They said they enjoyed just having an excuse to get together.
