Body Found On Lake Ontario Shore Near Oswego

A body has been found on the shore of Lake Ontario in Oswego County, but the condition of the body made immediate identification impossible.

Oswego County Undersheriff Gene Sullivan tells media outlets that the body was found near Lockhaven Beach in Scriba around 4:20 p.m. Tuesday.

In November, Oswego Police suspended an underwater search eight days after a man was seen jumping into the Oswego River.

Officials were unable to determine whether the body found Tuesday was that man.

The body was taken to the Onondaga County Medical Examiner for autopsy.
