Body Parts May Have Been Dumped In North CountryWas a Rochester man murdered here in the North Country and his body dumped in Lake Ontario? There is new information which suggests that's exactly what happened to Joseph "Ronnie" Gibbons. Gibbons is the boxer from Rochester who was allegedly involved in a $7 million armored car robbery. He disappeared in 1995 and just this week the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department revealed that body parts found along Lake Ontario were Gibbons's. Many people have thought the body parts had washed up in the North Country after drifting from someplace else. But 7 News has learned that Gibbons may have been taken to the cottage pictured here located in the Town of Cape Vincent, not far from where body parts were found. In fact, police believe Gibbons and the people he hung out with visited the cottage often. A source tells 7 News that others involved in the robbery brought Gibbons here and now authorities are looking to talk to a man who lived in the cottage back in the 1990s and just recently moved out. They think he may know whether Gibbons was dead or alive when he was brought here and just how he ended up in the lake. See our story earlier this week about the identification of the body parts. |
