Bone Marrow Donor Drive Held in Adams

In the village of Adams, the community had a chance to show support and help cancer patients in their fight against the disease.

The South Jeff Rescue Squad held a bone marrow donor drive Saturday.

It was designed to show support for South Jefferson Central student Ben Towles and 4-year-old Grant Mullin. Both are battling forms of cancer.

Rescue Squad members say bone marrow donations for patients across the country are desperately needed:

"You could possibly help either one of them out, or you could be put on the list to help anyone out with the disease," explained event organizer Christina Burnash.

The South Jeff Rescue Squad plans to hold more bone marrow donor drives in the future.
