Jefferson County Undersheriff Andy Neff is expected to step down, retiring after 25 years with the department.

A source tells 7 News Neff hasn't submitted his retirement letter yet, but it's expected soon, possibly Friday or Monday.

Neff is the subject of a sexual harassment lawsuit being brought by an Adams woman, Michelle Bowens.

Neff has been off the job since the allegations were made in October. He was originally on paid administrative leave, but county officials said he had to take vacation time instead.

Bowens filed legal documents claiming Neff offered to speak to prosecutors on her behalf about charges she was facing "if she performed sexual favors for him."

The 42 year old Bowens is currently in county jail for allegedly having two stolen credit cards and she served a jail term for a 2007 conviction for fourth-degree grand larceny.

Bowens said she had a relationship with Neff starting in 2005 when she was an informant for the sheriff's department.
