Brewery Rolls Out Spring Line In Free Tasting
It was a night to try some of this spring's hottest craft beers.
"It's great to see people that come out and they end up loving the beer," said Meghan Fraser of Saranac Brewery.
Pearl Street Pub hosted the beer-tasting. It celebrates a re-naming of the bar at the same time Saranac introduces its seasonal brands.
"We're kind of re-branding it tonight," said bar owner Jeff Graham, who is also mayor of Watertown, "getting it back to our roots, calling it the Pearl Street Pub.
"The good folks from Saranac are here to help us celebrate and sample some of their products, which are made right here in New York state."
Saranac also had cause to celebrate. This year marks the company's 125th anniversary.
The New York brewery is based only a couple hours away in Utica.
The spring line of craft beers includes a new spin on a traditional brand, with the Red IPA.
It was a packed house at the free tasting. Even the Thousand Islands Privateers stopped by to try the new brews.
