Brown Is Shapiro Award Winner

The chief executive officer of a Watertown engineering and architectural firm is this year's winner of the Shapiro Award.

Bernard "Bernie" Brown of Bernier Carr & Associates has been involved in many civic activities, including the Boy Scouts and American Heart Association.

The award is made on the basis of outstanding citizenship or for outstanding contribution in civic or social welfare activity. 

Entries were judged on citizenship, achievement, leadership, dedication and motivation by a panel of past Shapiro recipients.

The award will be presented on February 7.
