Businessman Could Be Denied Tax Break

A Watertown businessman might not receive a tax deal for apartments he renovated in downtown Watertown.

Steve Bradley sent the city council a letter asking for a deal.

He says he paid for the project on his own, but is struggling to make a profit.

Bradley was hoping for a deal that would excuse him from paying extra taxes on the apartments for 12 years.

When the council met Tuesday night, Mayor Jeff Graham said that while he admires Bradley's work, legally, the city can't offer him a deal.
