CBS News Crew In Area To Track Down TI Dressing Origins

What's in a name? When it comes to a popular salad dressing called Thousand Islands, it's more than a name. It's part of north country history.

CBS News wants to share that history with the rest of the country. A crew from Sunday Morning is in the area to learn about the origins of the famous dressing.

CBS correspondent Martha Teichner joined 7 News This Morning for a telephone interview.

She said she's enjoying tracking down the origins of Thousand Islands dressing.

"I think because it's local lore and you can trace it and it's fun." she said.

"It's just one of those things that you can't stop thinking about it once you start and wonder what the connections really are."

The location doesn't hurt, either, she said.

"It's also a way to see a beautiful part of the country. I've never been up here before."

The news program, she said, is doing an island-themed show this coming Sunday morning and the dressing idea came up during brainstorming.
