Canton Route 11 Construction Project Complete, DOT Officials Say

State transportation officials say the Canton Village Reconstruction Project is now complete.

Department of Transportation Commissioner Joan McDonald announced Friday the completion of the two-year, $10 million project.
The project upgraded about a mile of Route 11 through the village's downtown and included utility upgrades, sidewalk improvements, plantings, and better crosswalks.
Traffic was detoured around Canton for most of the project and motorists sometimes faced lengthy delays.
A ceremony to dedicate the project will be at 5:30 p.m. Friday at village offices on Main Street.
