Canton Woman Accused Of Embezzling From Employer

A Canton woman is accused of stealing between between $40,000 and $50,000 from her employer.

The St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Department arrested 35 year old Angela McCormick of 145 Janes Road.

She's charged with third-degree grand larceny and first degree falsifying business records.

Officials said the arrest came after an investigation which took more than a year to complete.

According to the department, Mike Morgan, owner of Premier Paging and Wireless Inc. of Morley, reported that an employee stole between $40,000 and $50,000 from January 2008 to September 2009.

McCormick allegedly created PayPal accounts, double paid herself and wrote company checks to herself and changed the accounting books to show the payments went to vendors of the company.

McCormick was released to the supervision of the county probation department.
